In this step, create a presentation which you will present on the pitch day in front of a jury. Create a pitch deck for this. The pitch deck is a presentation that entrepreneurs put together when seeking a round of financing from investors. Your pitch deck should have no more than 10 slides and the presentation should take max. 5 minutes.
📣 Beware: A picture is worth a thousand words. Use appropriate graphical illustrations that help to convince the investor of the profitability of investing in your idea. Try to tell a story using the images.
Additionally, avoid large blocks of text and long sentences. Remember, text on the slides should be the bare essentials and help you tell a more detailed story. Focus on snappy, clear bullet points which summarize the key points, then expand on these in more detail when presenting.
Having more visuals will also contribute to having investors focused on you. In essence, the three keys to powerful pitch decks that get funded are:
Clarity and simplicity
Persuasive power
Easy to act on
The pitch deck should include:
The problem description
The market opportunity
The product/service idea
Potential customers / market access
Your team
Before the final pitch day, please meet with one other group to present your group pitches to each other and review it. Find a date and time to do the peer presentation and focus on the following aspects:
As a storyteller:
Share your storyline and your core messages. Run the audience through the presentation on a higher-level.
Prepare questions for the audience: What do you want to learn? Which aspects are you unsure about?
As a spectator:
Who would you want to work with as an investor or founder, and why? How do they approach the challenge?
Reflection on the structure and the messages: Is the presentation clear? Is the story compelling?
Reflection on roles in their team: Who takes on what kind of role and why? What are the missing roles in the team? And if yes, who can fill the gap?
You can use this feedback
template below as an orientation
☝️Note: The debate about feedback isn't new. Since the middle of the last century, the question of how to get others to improve has generated a good deal of opinion and research. Giving constructive feedback may seem like one of your most demanding tasks but is also highly enriching. If you learn to give feedback effectively, you can avoid the drama and have an insightful conversation around performance and how it can be improved.

How would you improve the project?
How could this example inform your own deliverable?
